Global early-stage startup competition Seedstars World has announced the nine startups that will pitch at its event in Luanda, Angola for a place in the global final and the chance of securing up to US$1 million in equity investment.
Global early-stage startups competition Seedstars World has been hosting an increased number of local events across Africa this year, and has already picked winners in Mozambique, Tunisia, Tanzania, South Africa, Uganda, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon and Rwanda.
Its event in Angola will take place on Friday, October 13, and will be carried out with the assistance of main sponsor Thomson Group International (TGI) and local ambassador organisation Kianda Hub.
The startups selected to take part in the event include portable charging device developer Techno Society, hospital management solution GlobalTech OMICROM, virtual competition platform AngoGaming, and crowdfunding platform Deya.
Drone-based aerial imaging company Imagens Aereas de Angola, advertising startup Na Via, on-demand services platform Salo, school management platform Softwares 4Mais, and fintech startup UseKamba complete the list.
“We are seeing a more diverse group of entrepreneurs compared to last year’s edition and we are positive that this batch will raise the bar even more,” said Joel Epalanga, co-founder and managing partner at Kianda Hub.
