Kenyan startup Skizaa Education has been selected as the only African company among global education startups to compete as a finalist for the Milken Penn GSE Education Business Plan Competition.

Formed in 2022, Skizaa, which is invited to present at Edtech Week 2023 in New York in the autumn, specialises in collecting and analysing educational data, particularly from last mile regions. The goal is to provide stakeholders such as NGOs, curriculum developers, policymakers and social enterprises with valuable insights for informed decision-making and enhanced education outcomes.

“I am so delighted to be representing Skizaa Education, as the only African startup selected in this international competition. We are committed to facilitating inclusive education and believe that better access to data will help schools and teachers make more data-driven interventions,” said Ngugi Karega, CEO of Skizaa Education.
