Four African founders were among the 10 from around the world that participated in the just-concluded Westerwelle Young Founders Programme and have now been chosen to pitch at the Young Founder Conference in Berlin.
The Westerwelle Foundation for International Understanding supports collaboration between young entrepreneurs, executives and decision makers from around the world.
Its Young Founders Programme is a fully-funded six-month programme for 25 exceptional entrepreneurs from developing and emerging economies, offering access to a global network of entrepreneurs, mentorship from industry experts, and expert workshops.
The autumn programme, which lasted from September 2022 until February 2023, culminated with 10 founders being selected to attend the Westerwelle Young Founders Conference in Berlin on May 9-13.
The four African founders who made the top 10 selection are Bidemi Ojo, co-founder and CEO of Nigeria’s Gleeworld Pharmacy; Chiemela Anosoke, founder and CEO of Nigeria’s Solaris TechHub; Vivens Uwizeyimana, co-founder and CEO of Rwanda’s Umurava; and Christine Kihunde, co-founder and CEO of Uganda’s Jaguza Tech.
These entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to pitch to investors, participate in workshops, attend networking events, and learn more about the German startup landscape during the conference.
