Applications open for African Impact Challenge

Applications have opened for the African Impact Challenge, which helps participants build market-creating innovations, which tackle the continent’s biggest challenges with technology.

Following a 2020 pilot in Ghana, a 2021 challenge in Kenya and a 2022 edition in Rwanda, this year sees the African Impact Challenge expand to South Africa, and introduce a pan-African health-focused stream.

Top performing teams will receive up to US$25,000 in either grant funding or equity investment, and travel to Toronto, Canada for up to four months, with all costs covered, to learn and expand their entrepreneurship network.

“Our target is to successfully kick-start innovations aligned with our selection criteria across the continent. We do this by providing the capital, resources and guidance necessary for early founders to begin from scratch and build viable solutions,” organisers said.

Applications are open here until April 15, open to Africans under the age of 39, working full-time on impact-focused ventures that solve critical problems with technology.
