Five South African startups were selected to take part in Gartner’s Innovation Programme in Cape Town this week, showcasing their products to CIOs and senior IT executives at the Gartner Symposium.

The Gartner Symposium/ITxpo is one of the world’s most important gatherings of CIOs and senior IT executives, showcasing the latest solutions from key technology providers. The event finished yesterday.

South African startups Electrum, Big Inja, ThisIsMe, Flow Software and Hyperion Development were chosen to take part in the programme.  The event was attended by over 1,000 people from Africa and around the world who are actively looking for new partners and solutions.

“Many IT executives rely on Gartner Symposium/ITxpo to gain insight into how their organisations can use new technology solutions to address business challenges and we look forward to showcasing our advanced offering,” said David Thomas, ThisIsMe co-founder and head of product,

Dave Glass, managing director of Electrum, said he was thrilled to participate in the programme.

“The selection by Gartner demonstrates the interest and demand for our next-generation payments technology, which is secure, highly scalable, supports omni-channel and runs in the cloud,” he said.
