Cape Town accelerator seeks female entrepreneurs

The Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) is seeking ambitious, innovative and committed early growth stage female entrepreneurs to take part in an accelerator in Cape Town to help them scale their businesses.

Disrupt Africa reported last month the third edition of AWIEF was scheduled for Cape Town for October 5-6, aimed at accelerating the economic empowerment and advancement of African women and girls.

Ahead of the event, AWIEF has partnered global audit, accounting and consulting group Mazars to host a growth strategy business accelerator programme for women entrepreneurs in South Africa.

The intense six-week programme is designed to support participants with the business modelling and growth strategy required to scale their enterprises, become investment ready and develop entrepreneurial leadership.

It will cover areas such as target market, value proposition, marketing, sales and distribution, financial modelling, growth strategy and pitch training, and will culminate at the AWIEF event in October, where participating entrepreneurs will pitch their business to an audience of investors, business service companies and other entrepreneurs.

The three best startups stand to win further market access and business development support over a period of 12 months from Mazars.

Interested parties can apply here before July 16 for the programme, which is free and will begin in mid-August. Applicants must have an existing, post-revenue business, have been operating for more than one year, be owned or led by a female entrepreneur, and be seeking investment in order to grow.
