Open innovation bootcamp Africa 4 Tech is set to take place in Morocco in November, bringing together scientists, world leaders, entrepreneurs, and technologists to identify and build digital solutions to Africa’s most pressing challenges.

Africa 4 Tech will be a 72 hour summit gathering 150 delegates from across Africa and the world, asking them to collaborate to source, design and code solutions to tackle four of Africa’s biggest challenge areas; namely, education, energy, health, and agriculture.

The event will feature includes expert panels, customized workshops and networking sessions; while through a competitive nomination process, 50 young African innovators have been selected to attend and share their insights and expertise with C-suite executives from global organizations.

Africa 4 Tech said the idea of inviting local innovators is to support their work, and educate organizations about local markets and cultures.

During the final day of the bootcamp, delegates will present their projects, prototypes and vision of innovation for Africa before a panel of experts. A Digital Champion in each of the four designated fields – education, energy, health, and agriculture – will be announced.

“The future of digital innovation is Africa. Our goal is to connect some of the most brilliant minds across the continent to create meaningful opportunities to collaborate,” said Stéphan-Eloïse Gras, chief executive officer (CEO) and co-founder of Africa 4 Tech.

“With the world’s eyes on Africa leading up to COP22 [The 22nd Conference of the Parties of the United Nations], there’s never been a better time to spotlight the important and groundbreaking work that’s being done in Africa for Africa.”

Africa 4 Tech takes place from November 2 to 4. Tickets are available here.
