Applications are open for the PitchIt @ LendIt startup competition, which aims to find the future star of the fintech world.

The competition is aimed at firms innovating within the online lending and fintech space; and will provide a showcase for eight of the world’s high growth fintech companies.

Hosted by lending firm Capital One in partnership with fintech conference organiser LendIt, the eight selected startups will pitch their businesses to a panel of expert judges and tech industry leaders at the LendIt Europe 2016 conference, to be held in London.

Prior to the conference, startups will receive expert coaching and mentorship to prepare their pitch.

The winner of the competition will receive ongoing mentoring from experts associated with Capital One Growth Labs via a personalised plan to help their fintech develop, and access the necessary expertise and capabilities to help their startup grow.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with PitchIt @Lendit Europe.  Our Growth Labs programme has shown us the power that comes from pairing fresh ideas and technology from startups with the scale of our customer base and ability to trial those ideas.  I can’t wait to see the ideas and insights in consumer lending from PitchIt and hope that our mentoring will create value for the winner,” said Amy Lenander, chief marketing officer at Capital One.

To be eligible to enter the competition, startups must have raised less than GB£4 million (US$5.3 million) in funding, have at least two full-time founders, have a working prototype with customer interaction, and have started their venture between 2014 and 2016.

Applications are available here, until September 12. The competition takes place on October 10.
