Speakers from the likes of the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) and Barclays Bank will grace the second Nairobi Innovation Week next month.

The first Nairobi Innovation Week, organised by the University of Nairobi, took place last year, and the organising committee has now released a draft programme for this year’s six-day event, which kicks off on August 1.

Speakers will spearhead discussions on championing innovation and entrepreneurship in Kenya, with the main speaker new cabinet secretary at the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology Joe Mucheru.

Other government officials to speak include the CA director general Francis Wangusi, Kenya Vision 2030 director general Gituro Wainanina and Konza Technopolis Development Authority chief executive John Tanui.

Dr Laila Macharia, vice chair of KEPSA, will moderate a panel on the third day of the event, which will also be the official opening, while Equity Bank managing director James Mwangi and Barclays Bank Kenya managing director Jeremy Awori will also speak.
