The Buea tech community in Cameroon has announced the second annual Silicon Mountain conference will take place on June 18, under the theme “Think Global, Build Local”.

The first Silicon Mountain conference took place in June of last year, with this year’s event also set to attract creatives, programmers and community organizers from across Cameroon to the Mount Fako area for a day of code labs, workshops and interactive sessions.

The event will start with keynotes from AppsTech founder Rebecca Enonchong, head of the Department for Computer Science at the University of Buea Dr Denis Nkweteyim, FeePerfect founder Fritz Ekwoge Ekwoge, and Colorfluid Design Agency co-founder Bermond Yange.

Workshop sessions and presentations on STEM-related topics, design and community management will follow, with startups and larger companies also able to present their products and services to attendees.

The conference will close with a two-hour networking session where key startup founders and community managers will liaise with corporate guests, business executives and government officials.
