Applications are open for the SEED Awards for Entrepreneurship in Sustainable Development, rewarding social and environment-oriented startups across Africa.

The annual SEED Awards are designed to find the most promising, innovative and locally-led social and environmental startups in African countries.

This year up to 20 awards will be granted, across three award categories: the SAG-SEED Awards, for social and environmental startups located in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritius, South Africa or Uganda; the SEED Africa Awards, for social and environmental startups in Malawi, Mozambique or Namibia; and the SEED Gender Equality Award, aimed at social and environmental startups run or owned by a woman or women, and/or prioritises women empowerment  in Kenya.

The winners will receive a customised six-month support package consisting of tools, capacity building, profiling, network building, and financing, tailored to their individual needs.

Winners are chosen by an international jury of experts, on the basis of which enterprises have the potential to make real improvements in poverty eradication and environmental sustainability while contributing to a greener economy.

Application are open until March 21 here, with details of eligibility criteria available here.
