Ghanaian incubator the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) has opened applications for external entrepreneurial teams to join its community as businesses-in-residence.
MEST has been plotting expansion recently, having accepted Kenyan entrepreneurs into its programme for the first time earlier this year. It is launching in South Africa next year, and planning to set up physical spaces across Africa.
The incubator has now launched a new concept at its Accra home, inviting external businesses to apply to work from the MEST office space. The company is looking for individuals or small teams working on digital businesses with a focus on addressing pan-African opportunities, and people whose presence will benefit existing companies in the incubator.
Successful applicants will receive open floor plan seating or private offices depending on space availability, as well as access to conference rooms for meetings, high speed internet connectivity, a backup power generator and water. Businesses will gain exposure to strategic corporate partners, and access to special events and visitors hosted at the incubator complex.
“MEST routinely hosts guests from all over the world including corporate executives, venture capital investors, startup CEOs, government officials, and leaders from companies including Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Samsung, Uber, Vodafone, and dozens more. As a tenant in our incubator, you’ll enjoy exposure and have the opportunity to interact with these visitors and partners of MEST,” MEST said.
