Stellenbosch-based incubator LaunchLab is offering 50 per cent bursaries to those in need of financial assistance for its 10-week entrepreneurship acceleration programme.

Those selected by LaunchLab for the bursaries will only be required to pay ZAR2,500 (US$200) for the programme, which is looking for entrepreneurs either with ideas for businesses or already running their own startup.

Interested parties should contact chani@launchlab.co.za for more details about the programme.

Disrupt Africa has reported regularly on LaunchLab in recent months, with the incubator launching its Lift-Off accelerator at the beginning of February, with South African tech-driven entrepreneurs invited to participate in the 14-week training programme.

In April LaunchLab held the first round of pitching in its Pitching Den competition, with the winning startups to share ZAR50,000 (US$4,130) in seed funding.

Meanwhile, Disrupt Africa reported in November Sandile Mamela had won the first Lift-Off programme for his business idea Magic Flow, a secure web-based platform where users can buy and re-sell second-hand tickets.

Sponsored by Deloitte, the IDC and Stellenbosch University, the programme included 13 entrepreneurs and saw Mamela walk away with ZAR15,000 (US$1,500) in seed funding.
