Silicon Cape to appoint first full-time operations manager

0

Western Cape startup support initiative Silicon Cape is advertising for its first full-time operations manager, as the previously volunteer-led organisation looks to professionalise its operations in the wake of raising funding from First National Bank (FNB) last year.

Silicon Cape raised more than ZAR3 million (US$270,000) in funding from FNB, which outgoing chairperson Alexandra Fraser said would be used to hire full-time staff and expand certain operations. Earlier this month, new chairperson Daniel Guasco told Disrupt Africa it was open to further funding.

The organisation is now advertising for an operations manager, and is looking for an individual with at least five years management experience.

Whoever is appointed will be charged with managing Silicon Cape’s budget, expenditure, payments and financial performance, as well as representing Silicon Cape at meetings and when dealing with stakeholders. They should also be able to identify and implement technology to improve service delivery, reporting and community engagement, and manage service level agreements and deliverables between Silicon Cape and service providers, sponsors and partners.

Interested parties should submit a detailed CV, cover letter which motivates why you would be suited to the position, and three references by 5pm on Monday, May 4, via email to jobs@siliconcape.com. No late applications will be considered.
