Global business magazine Forbes is calling for nominations for its 30 Under 30 list of Africa’s best young entrepreneurs, which will be published in the magazine next month.
In a post, Forbes contributor Mfonobong Nsehe asks readers to nominate African entrepreneurs under the age of 30 who are making the most dramatic impact in Africa today in sectors such as technology, media and entertainment, manufacturing, real estate, agriculture and financial services.
He said nominees must be citizens of one of the 54 African countries and their business must be based in an African country.
“And no lone rangers here; nominees must be entrepreneurs who have built businesses that employ at least four people,” he said.
“Ideally, the companies they have built should be generating revenues above US$1 million, and be profitable. But if they are yet to break even, they must have good prospects for the near future. For instance, if an entrepreneur has raised a significant round of funding from investors, but is yet to turn a profit, he or she is of interest.”
Nsehe said nominees must also be ethical and socially responsible people, with those looking to nominate an entrepreneur invited to tweet him on @MfonobongNsehe or send an email to mnsehe@forbes.com before January 31.
