Zambian tech innovation hub BongoHive has opened applications for the second edition of its “Launch” accelerator programme, aimed at helping local startups accelerate their growth.

Disrupt Africa reported in January on the first edition of the Launch programme, which accelerated 10 Zambian startups: 360 Deals, Fixer, MaFashio, Modzi Arts, ShopZed, Street Culture, Tamanga Ticketing, Tellr, Your Insider Zambia and ZedHair.

BongoHive said Launch was a three-month accelerator programme that strategically focuses on startups that have already launched but are looking to gain further traction and scale.

The Launch programme allows startup founders to schedule weekly sessions as needed with the incubation lead, accountant and legal counsel. Applications are now open.

BongoHive also recently launched its Discover programme, an intense three-week full-time bootcamp providing entrepreneurs with the basic skills they need to turn a business idea into a fully-fledged startup.

The hub is also relocating, for the second time in just over a year, to a bigger premises in order to address the growing needs of the startups in its community. The new location is on Thabo Mbeki Road in Lusaka.

Disrupt Africa reported in February BongoHive had signed a sponsorship arrangement with local operator MTN, which will see the partners build an enabling environment for developers in Zambia.
