The Abuja-based accelerator Ventures Platform will showcase the six Nigerian startups that took part in its first cohort to investors and other stakeholders at a demo day on Friday (January 27).

Launched last year, Ventures Platform is a full-service innovation hub in Abuja, which runs an 16-week hybrid incubation programme, a residence for need-based cohorts and a paid co-working space for freelance entrepreneurs and professionals.

The six startups that took part in the first programme are now ready to showcase to investors, with the group made up of delivery platform JaloNG, e-learning startup Lizzie’s Creations, online lending platform PayConnect, data collection service Mobile Forms, on-demand domestic worker platform Wesabi, and tutoring startup ProTeach.

Ventures Platform is also on the lookout for startups to take part in its second programme, with applications open here. Representatives will be embarking on a regional tour in February to identify potential recruits.

The team will be visiting hubs in the Nigerian cities of Lagos, Jos, Kaduna, Ibadan, Port Harcourt and Enugu, as well as the Ghanaian capital Accra.
