Kenyan and Rwandan startups are invited to apply for the Smart Cities Innovation Programme (SCIP) aimed at quickly scaling solutions shaping the future of urban living in Africa.

Run by Westerwelle Startup Haus Kigali in partnership with GIZ, Make IT in Africa, Nairobi Garage and Ambo Venture (Kenya), the SCIP is aimed at tech startups operating in Rwanda or Kenya with ready-to-scale solutions in smart mobility, logistics, or e-commerce.

The initiative is aimed at fostering 20 high-potential startups – 10 in Kigali and 10 in Nairobi – focusing on smart mobility and logistics solutions. Selected companies will benefit from expansion readiness assessments, capacity building, ecosystem mapping, and coaching.

On 21-day exploratory trips in Kigali and Nairobi, they will gain market insights, meet partners, and hopefully close deals, while the programme concludes with demo days in each city.

Applications are open here until October 29.
