The Migration Entrepreneurship Prize, a programme designed for socially driven startups with a mission to enhance the inclusion of migrants in the Middle East and Africa, has opened applications for its second cohort.

In a partnership between Seedstars and The Peace and Human Rights Division of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), the initiative aims to strengthen and support areas prone to strong migration movements such as the Middle East and Africa by addressing the root causes of irregular migration and strengthen the socio-economic rights of migrants.

After a first cohort where 20 startups were selected for solutions that range from financial services, education, health, and more, the Migration Entrepreneurship Prize is again looking for socially-driven businesses on a mission to enhance economic inclusion of migrants. The programme will focus on sourcing entrepreneurs from Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, and the Middle East.

Startups tackling the positive benefits of migration and reducing the vulnerability of migrants, social-driven businesses alleviating the pressure of populations along migration routes, and entrepreneurs proposing products and services targeting migrants directly are invited to apply. The Migration Entrepreneurship Prize is also launching a special Tunisia track to provide more specific support to Tunisian entrepreneurs joining the programme.

Applications are open here until May 28.
