A Facebook Africa team is visiting Zimbabwe to host a series of training events and workshops designed to help local tech entrepreneurs and small businesses sharpen their digital skills and expertise.

Facebook and partner Digify Africa began their Boost Your Business training programme at Moto Republik yesterday (July 13), aimed at helping small business owners understand how to use digital platforms to grow their businesses.

Topics covered include content marketing, digital marketing fundamentals, and tips on how to understand and engage audiences on Facebook. The programme is also running currently in South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria.

Today (Friday, 14 July), the same programme is taking place at Impact Hub Harare for participants in the Impact Accelerate 2030 competition and “These Images are Stories” programme. Tomorrow’s event at Impact Hub Harare is open to the public.

“The developer community has played a large role in Facebook’s success to-date, and we continue to focus on helping startups, entrepreneurs, and developers to succeed,” said Proud Dzambukira, Facebook strategic product partner for platform partnerships.

“We are excited to announce the Zimbabwe launch of Developer Circles from Facebook, a programme for developers to connect, learn, and collaborate with other local developers.”

Developer Circles Harare from Facebook will organise regular engineer and product gatherings to educate and provide a forum for discussion and knowledge sharing around topics that are top-of-mind for developers in a particular market, including ways to build with the Facebook platform and defining success metrics.

Additionally, these gatherings will feature guest speakers who will share their own best practices and insights. The first event will take place today, during which developers will discuss Facebook Messenger.
