Entrepreneurs from South Africa, Egypt and Morocco are among the 28 selected to benefit from ongoing support from non-profit impact entrepreneurship organisation Endeavor.

The New York-headquartered Endeavor promotes the concept of high-impact entrepreneurship in growth markets, and has an exclusive network of 1,461 entrepreneurs leading 915 companies in 30 growth markets around the world.

Endeavor selected its latest batch of 28 entrepreneurs, leading 20 companies from 15 countries, at the 71st International Selection Panel (ISP) held last month in London. The ISP is the culmination of a rigorous multi-step selection process to identify innovative and driven entrepreneurs who are committed to advancing an ecosystem of entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurs from African countries were well represented amongst those chosen, with two chosen from South Africa: Graham Rowe and Richard Johnson. They head up Johannesburg-based e-health startup Sancreed, the company behind multi-sided, data-driven online platform Guidepost.

Guidepost links people with chronic diseases – currently diabetes – to a dedicated, clinically-accredited expert coach. On average, the company’s patients experience a 45 per cent reduction in their frequency of hospitalisation and a 2.5 per cent drop in A1C – the measure of diabetes control – within six months of using Guidepost.

Also chosen was Moroccan entrepreneur Hammad Benjelloun, who is behind ad-tech company Adlive. Adlive is a digital media workplace that brings all media traders onto a single platform and offers an automated way to plan, execute, and optimise digital media campaign performance. It currently operates in the UAE, Spain, France, and Morocco.

Egypt is represented by Yasser Rasheed, whose company RPMinerals mines, selects and processes minerals to serve various applications, such as oil and gas drilling, water drilling, tunneling and horizontal directional drilling, foundry, paper production, ceramics and cat litter.

“Convening entrepreneurs, panelists and staff from all corners of the globe, and welcoming entrepreneurs from 15 countries into the network, the London ISP was an amazing testament to how far Endeavor’s model has spread over the past 20 years,” said Endeavor co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Linda Rottenberg.

“A huge congratulations to the high-impact Endeavor Entrepreneurs selected this week!”
