The SAB Foundation is inviting South African entrepreneurs looking to grow their businesses to apply for its Tholoana Programme, which will see successful candidates provided with mentorship, skills training and eligibility for grant finance of up to ZAR250,000 (US$21,000).
Participants will also be provided with other business support, to be provided in conjunction with Fetola, while any grant finance offered will be disbursed upon the completion of certain milestones.
The current intake for the Tholoana Programme is focused on the Mpumalanga and Limpopo areas, while KwaZulu-Natal and Free State applications will open in a few months, followed by other provinces.
“The Tholoana Enterprise Programme is a holistic intervention providing business development support, skills training, mentoring and seed capital to small businesses with the intention of assisting them to grow, become viable over time and create jobs,” the SAB Foundation said.
Eligible businesses must be black-owned, operate within South African borders, and commercially sustainable and viable. The chosen entrepreneur needs to be involved in the business’s daily operations and management on a full-time basis.
