Lagos-based co-working space CapitalSquare is this week celebrating one year of existence with a series of talks, free offerings and events.
CapitalSquare opened its doors on November 23 last year, targeting young, creative entrepreneurs, and has held a series of Demo Days since.
“We provide a relaxed environment for independent professionals to work, collaborate, and learn from each other. We also have a number of meeting rooms for our members, as well as external clients,” CapitalSquare said.
The space is now celebrating its first birthday, and is celebrating with a busy programme.
“It’s been an interesting journey, with ups and downs and times that we thought we wouldn’t be able to go on,” CapitalSquare said. “But we did, and we think that’s worth celebrating. We have a lot planned for our anniversary – so much that we had to make it a week-long programme, with everything from free coworking, to talks, movie screenings, and a party (of course – we’re Nigerian)!”
Speakers include Titi Odunfa, managing director of Sankore Investments, Seye Kuyinu, chief technology officer (CTO) at Ringier, and Musa Ali Baba, chief executive officer (CEO) at Teasy International, while entertainment on offer includes a screening of the Startupland documentary and the film Moneyball.
“Work shuts down at 4pm on Friday, with drinks, snacks, music, and games for the rest of the evening. And at 5pm, we’ll start our screening of Moneyball, which isn’t your typical entrepreneurship movie, but is definitely a must-watch for anybody who has ever dreamed of taking on the system. Not a bad way to spend Friday evening, is it?”
